Pennsylvania Home Heating Equipment Rebate Program
RSG is currently the Program Implementer for the State Energy Efficient Appliance Rebate Program (SEEARP) for the state of Pennsylvania, funded through the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act of 2009. RSG coordinated all aspects of program design, cost-effectiveness analysis and documentation, trade ally and stakeholder outreach, rebate processing, verification, and marketing to successfully introduce a comprehensive, quick-launch program in a remarkable six-week timeframe.
The Pennsylvania Home Heating Rebate Program launched on April 21, 2010. The Program provides rebates for high efficiency home heating equipment, including water heaters, furnaces and boilers. The Program utilizes a rebate reservation system for consumers to reserve rebates prior to purchasing products.
Results:
Through the program, RSG issued over 16,000 rebates to Pennsylvania residents, the program created over 100 skilled HVAC installation jobs, and saved over 400 billion Btu – with the associated energy bill savings for those residents.
With an emphasis on contractor-installed, high investment efficiency equipment, the program helped customers realize long-term energy savings and truly stimulated the economy with local jobs. In addition to the skilled labor required to install equipment, the vast majority of products rebated through the program were manufactured in the United States.
