IT Associate 2

Resource Solutions Group is seeking an IT Associate 2 to participate on program teams to develop solutions for managing and reporting on program data, to provide general IT support and work with staff to encourage the adoption of productive technologies.  This position requires a generalist who is familiar with Microsoft server and office productivity tools, quick to pick up new technologies and able to communicate effectively with a broad range of users. This position is available in our beautiful Half Moon Bay, CA office.

The essential responsibilities and duties for this position include, but are not limited to, the following:

Data Tools Maintenance and Development, Data Management and Analysis

  • Working closely with program team members and senior staff, maintains and develops project databases and applications to automate workflow and track program metrics using a variety of data and programming tools Access, Excel and ASP.net.
  • Works with staff to develop an understanding of program requirements and assists with creation of tools to accurately track program metrics.
  • Ensures quality of data tools and consistency of results through development of test suites and test tools. Runs regression and stress tests as necessary.
  • Creates ad-hoc program data reports and performs data analysis to respond to staff or customer data inquiries.
  • Documents data systems and work flow processes. Periodically reviews documentation and work flows to ensure that processes are followed.

Web Site Development and Maintenance

  • Working closely with program team members, outside designers and senior staff, maintains program and promotional web sites.
  • Trains other staff in the use of site content management systems and support them in the creation of web content.
  • Oversees the organization and usefulness of the company’s internal web portal.
  • Maintains digital asset library and provides graphics and image manipulation as needed.

IT Support

  • Responds to requests for assistance with computer systems, phone equipment, software and networking. Identifies problems, troubleshoots and provides advice to assist users.
  • Performs routine maintenance and repairs to laptop systems. Coordinates major repairs with outside vendor.
  • Maintains inventory of computer, networking and phone equipment. Monitors software licensing and equipment warranties.
  • Reviews logs and event histories to proactively detect and resolve issues with server operations, backups and network connectivity.
  • Configures changes to server accounts, phone and voice mail accounts.
  • Responds quickly and cheerfully to resolve other staff’s issues with technology, including supporting conference calling, on-line meetings, monitor and display configuration and printer issues.
  • Generates useful and accurate user guides to document phone, system and network access tasks. 
  • Conducts one-on-one training and coaching sessions to help users adopt new technologies. Assists users with choosing appropriate technologies to improve work flows and effectiveness.

General Duties

  • Completes assignments on schedule and within the allotted budget or hours.
  • Successfully and independently tracks and implements large/significant tasks within a project or program. Tracks multiple task or project deadlines and alerts manager in advance of conflicts.
  • Provides general administrative support to the IT staff.
  • Makes connections from day-to-day work to business development opportunities and alerts senior staff when they arise.

Competencies

To perform the job successfully, an individual should demonstrate the following competencies:

Specific Computer Skills/Experience

  • Advanced-level skill with Excel, including experience with macros, pivot tables, charting and table lookups
  • Advanced experience with MS Access, including forms development, event procedures, query creation and Visual Basic modules.
  • Intermediate skill with asp.net development (preferably in VB) and SQL
  • Familiarity with SharePoint and web part development
  • Experience with Joomla and Cisco Unity Express desired but not required.

Quality Assurance

  • Monitors own work to ensure quality and apply feedback to improve performance.
  • Consults with manager in timely manner to address questions or communicate concerns.

Task Management/Project Management

  • Demonstrates strong time management skills.
  • Demonstrates willingness to play variety of roles (e.g., administrative, support, development, testing) as required to achieve project/task success.

Education/Experience

  • B.S. or B.A. mandatory – computer science, information science desired but not required.
  • A minimum of 3 years relevant experience mandatory.

Market Outreach Associate

Resource Solutions Group is seeking Project Associate candidates for our Chicago office to assist in implementing several emerging residential and commercial energy efficiency programs. The Project Associate will independently provide targeted customer and trade ally outreach, market research, organization, administrative, data management, reporting, and customer communication to help programs achieve goals and produce quality deliverables.

The essential responsibilities and duties for this position include, but are not limited to, the following:

  • Cultivate a regional network of equipment suppliers to engage them in program opportunities, provide tools and program training, motivate them to offer high efficiency equipment to their customers
  • Track and coordinate with regional energy efficiency program stakeholders to identify areas for collaboration
  • Develop tools and materials to support product suppliers and educate customers about energy efficiency, motivating program participation
  • Develop and implement marketing and outreach strategies to encourage targeted customer groups to invest in energy efficiency measures
  • Maintain clear and up-to-date contact management database
  • Track program accomplishments and adapt outreach strategies as needed

Energy Efficiency Engineer

Resource Solutions Group (RSG) is a dynamic company focusing on energy and overall resource efficiency, with programs currently implemented in sectors that include agriculture (wineries and dairies), education (schools/colleges/universities), residential and various commercial sectors. The Energy Efficiency Engineer will help to assess energy savings potential and provide hands-on technical assistance to program participants throughout the efficiency upgrade process. The best candidate will offer building science skills, strong ability to work with key decision makers and capability to work on project teams.

Position Highlights:

  • Conducts on-site energy surveys or remote review and analysis of customer resource efficiency opportunities
  • Supports project teams to encourage the implementation of efficiency upgrades
  • Completes and submits custom energy efficiency measure calculations for approval
  • Provides strategic analysis and review of measure work papers and calculators
  • Supports the project team in presenting results to both internal and external clients and customers in a professional, clear, concise, and persuasive fashion.

Qualifications

  • Degree in Engineering is mandatory, EIT a benefit
  • Minimum 6 years experience in building science, energy efficiency, and/or a relevant engineering role – support on energy efficiency programs preferred
  • Knowledge of HVAC, refrigeration, and lighting technologies
  • Experience with building energy audits, energy system computer models, and EM&V evaluation of commercial buildings and industrial process equipment
  • Strong presentation, writing and customer relationship skills
  • Ability to multi-task while maintaining a high level of personal organization with attention to detail is essential

This is a full time position based in Half Moon Bay, CA that requires a willingness to travel, the ability to multitask, a positive attitude and technical aptitude in the building science sector.
