RSG not only encourages its clients to embrace sustainability, but “walks the talk” with its own internal company practices, including:
- Office consumables, including kitchen supplies and hardware, as well as all client marketing materials, are sourced with a preference for recycled materials: all paper, business cards and promotional materials are made from 100% recycled paper, and/or recycled materials and BPA-free plastic; and kitchen supplies are procured with waste-reduction as a priority.
- Office renovations and standard maintenance practices utilize low-VOC carpet and paint, reclaimed construction materials and furniture, green-certified cleaning products and sustainable pest management and landscape maintenance.
- Office HVAC system utilizes set points that are set back at night to reduce energy consumption and workstations utilize natural light and compact fluorescent light bulbs.
- Company recycling program recycles 100% of office paper, plastic and glass.
- Company policies encourage telecommuting and carpooling and nearly two thirds of the staff takes advantage of this for some portion of each week.
- These programs reduce weekly commuting distance traveled by a combined 30% or over 1,150 miles.
- Company communications prioritize email and teleconference calls (when possible) to avoid additional paper waste and greenhouse gas impacts of meeting-associated travel.
